Ode to my room...my bed...my pillow...
im so glad to be back home...neva appreciated my room and my bed so much before...
i really really hate to go to muar...juz like previous times...the moment i stepped into the "guest room" and saw the bed and pillow...i dint feel like slping on it...one look and i could tell the bedsheet and pillow casings were dirty!!! granted its a kampung area...but cant they at least wash them?? cant believe i spent 2 nites on tt bed...
at least the 2nd house we stayed at was much better...a semi-d in the urban area...with proper facilities...
and i dint realise i have so many nephews and nieces in msia till this trip...at least a dozen of them...wow...im a "jiu jiu" to all of them...im really old...
had to drive my cousin's proton saga for 2nd day coz my car was sent for respraying....and proton really lives up to its reputation...his mileage is abt 10000km less than mine but it SUCKS!!!
made me feel like my car is a BMW...it made me realise how good my car is...and i shld stop complaining....
well...overall...i enjoyed every minute i spent there except:
the sense of dread the moment i reached tt kampung...
the extreme boredom...
that i had to bathe with a pail...
that i had to "flush" my business by scooping water from a pail...
that the most hi-tech thing in the kampung is the tv...which has blurred images...
that i would wake up many times in the middle of the nite for a variety of reasons...eg. mosquito bites...uncomfortable bed...itchy nose...
that my ultra-hyper sensitive nose is no match for the ultra-hyper dirty/dusty pillow...nose itched throughout the 4 days there...
that theres a mosque in the area which plays muslin prayers over the loud speakers 5 times a day...one of which is at 5++AM!!
that after the dawn prayers end...roosters will crow...theres simply no letting up...
that there was a BAT in my room which woke me up on the 2nd nite...it landed on my feet and i jumped out of the bed...it was 12+ and everyone was slping...it stayed on a pillar rite next to where i slpt...dint noe wat to do but wait till it flew away...it took quite a while...
the 7-8 kids snatching my fone away when they saw me playing games on it...and then fighting for their turn to play..happened for the..3 days i was there...
the same 7-8 kids asking me all sorts of stupid irritating questions...i usually love kids but this is too much....
when i accompanied dad to visit the various relatives in the area...they tok among themselves in hokkien/teochew...which i suck at btw...while i sit and stare into space for hours...
that even when im at the 2nd house with proper facilities...the water pressure for the shower was too low...i was wondering if i would be better off bathing with a scoop and a pail...
that according to dad...he got ZERO mosquitoe bites while i got 32 !!! i shared the same bed with him for all 3 nites lor!!!
that i got bitten while driving...3 times!! by 2 bloody mosquitoes...one was killed by my dad's back...the other by my thigh...haha...found them squashed on the seats...
which pretty much leaves only 4 things im pleased about...
the extremely cheap cost of car repairs...fixing a dent on my wheel arch cost RM5.00!! i was shocked when i heard tt...prob wld cost me ard $50 if done in spore...
respraying for the whole bonnet + front and back bumper + touching up some scratches on the sides cost RM320!!! wld cost at least $200+ if done in spore...
and it was a very good job as well...impressive...
cheap makan!!!
and of course...the driving...every single meter of the 400+km covered was thoroughly enjoyable...the speeding...rev-ving...overtaking on those never-ending 2 lane, 2 directional roads...being able to blend in by driving "without proper road courtesy"...expecting others to brake for me when i feel like changing lanes or turn into a main road...
to top it all off and end the trip...the cheap petrol...filled to the brim...

ohh and i found a brilliant way to stop my dad from nagging at me speeeding on the NS highway...
CHAT WITH HIM!!!
on the way back...he kept on asking me to keep to the 110km/hr limit once i went a little faster....till i started toking to him...
then my speed gradually increased without any more naggings...he was prob too busy toking to notice my speed...hee...averaged abt 140...not v fast but dint dare to push it too much in case dad made noise...but it sure felt good...
