The Grinch...

its tt dreaded time of the year again...only time when i actually hate listening to the radio coz of all the same old christmas songs...one particular annoying song goes like:

on the 1st day of christmas my true love gave to me...bla bla bla...
on the 2nd day of christmas my true love gave to me...bla bla bla...
...
...
...
on the 12th day of christmas my true love gave to me...bla bla bla...

ITS IS EXTREMELY (x 12) IRRITATING !!!!

it is also the time for me to avoid shopping areas at all costs...everywhere is crowded with pple trying to buy xmas presents for frens and family...even the jams are crazy...

im pretty sure that a large part of them are not christians/catholics or belong to religions that actually celebrate xmas...and they have no idea wat xmas is all about...not tt i do....

these suckers probably juz wana follow the "norm"...nothing better to do anyway so juz do wat everyone else is doing...monkey see monkey do....i hate shopping crowds...

it may be bcoz im getting old or becoming a boring person....but i really dun see the point of going for all these countdown parties anymore...y bother getting stuck admist a sea of sweaty pple u dun even noe...having to squeeze ur way thru to whereever u wana go...and for girls...im sure tt most of them will be "touched/grabbed" in the process...unknowingly perhaps....

and not to mention the transportation...almost impossible to get a cab...even if u call for one...

hmm...looking back...it might actually had been fun when i was younger....4 or 5 new year countdowns at various places...1 or 2 xmas countdowns....i really am getting old...

anyway...

bottomline:

i hate christmas. 25/12 and 14/2 these days are overhyped occasions for retailers to increase their sales...all the marketing gimmicks will be on show during these periods...haiz...

once in a while there will be stories about how pple who dint believe in god are suddenly converted after an incident which changed their lives forever...

or about pple who thought love at first sight was impossible until it happened to them...

wats my point??

i have no idea...but i think the one year anniversary of the tsunami kinda got me thinking a little...

in this case...pple who actually believed that there was a god suddenly felt stupid...with the 9/11...numerous bombings over the years...and the tsunami...
